We're "Home"

15 Days. Two states: Queensland and New South Wales. Over 2500 km's. First time seeing a real koala, kangaroo, wombat, tasmanian devil and platypus. First time petting stingrays. One python in the bathroom. A rental van and then a rental car. A theme park. A water park. Sea World. Five sea turtle eggs. Lot's for McD's pit stops for their free wifi (to check in with family and friends over painfully slow internet). Six nights spent sleeping in our rental car (a suzuki swift). One spider bite. Two Mountain Ranges: Glass House Mountains and Blue Mountains. One friend I haven't seen in over ten years (meeting her hubby and baby too!). Endless lunches and dinners spread between bread.

And One One sleepless night.

SURFER'S PARADISE ON THE GOLD COAST

We made it back to Dunedin last night (New years Day) on only 2 hrs of sleep. It's now 1pm in the afternoon and I am still in bed. I am loving being back at home base. Scotty has had 2 showers in the last 12 hours. Sullivan can't get enough of us.

We'll spend a couple days here. We'll catch up on laundry and then pack up some camping gear. We've got some ground to cover here on the South Island before the Hostel fills back up with boys.

I GOT TO PET ONE- FELT WOOLY. I DON'T THINK IT GETS MUCH CUTER.

BYRON BAY

THE SURFERS WOKE US UP AT 5 AM. WE SPOTTED DOLPHINS IN THE SURF.

We hope your Holidays were filled with love and that you could get a little relaxation in. We have been thinking about everyone back at home, and have both really missed our families' home cooking. Australia was incredible. The people were so fun (especially the clan we met while visiting with one of my old high school friends... a major highlight of the trip for me). The Satake's showed us a great time on the Gold Coast. Little Maya's dancing just killed me... especially when she added in some of my yoga moves (she watched me doing them in the mornings) into her routine.

Hopefully he gat a chance to catch up with everyone before we head back out.

xoox.
